Why Foursquare
Our name reflects the unchanging ministry of Jesus Christ and our mission to declare it worldwide.
The four squares of our logo represent the four scriptural roles of Jesus as
Savior, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, Healer and Soon-Coming King.
WHAT WE DO
The Foursquare Church, officially the
International Church of the Foursquare Gospel,
was founded in Los Angeles, California, by
Aimee Semple McPherson in 1923.

Amid the revival days of the early 1900's this fellowship of believers was born, determined to proclaim the solid scriptural core of Pentecostal renewal, avoiding the extremes of fanaticism on one hand
and materialism on the other.

God, in His grace, has allowed us to grow from one local fellowship to more than 65,000 churches and meeting places in approximately 140 countries. These numbers are rapidly increasing.

We have no desire to compete or compare. We rejoice with every body of believers which lifts the bloodstained banner of Jesus Christ. The Foursquare Church is a member of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and, as a Pentecostal Church, is affiliated with the Pentecostal-Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) and the Pentecostal World Fellowship.
OUR COMMITMENT
"I want you to know that I'm committed to you. You'll never knowingly suffer at my hands. I'll never say or do anything, knowingly, to hurt you. I'll always, in every circumstance, seek to help you and support you. If you're down and I can lift you up, I'll do that. Anything I have that you need, I'll share with you; and if need be I'll give it to you. No matter what I find out about you and no matter what happens in the future, either good or bad, my commitment to you will never change. And there's nothing you can do about it. You don't have to respond. I love you and that's what it means."

FIND YOUR FAITH
While our approach is adaptable, our message is sacred. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. His gospel never changes; its goodness never diminishes. We may go many places.
We may not all look the same. But our message stays true to God’s Word.
